You may have seen the news that Magnolia Bridge (also known as, Cabrini Bridge (though, once known as Bayou Bridge (but…once also known as Old Bayou Bridge))) is being shut down, very soon, to undergo repairs and a new paint job. The $1.5 million project is expected to keep the bridge out of commission through festivals like Bayou Boogaloo and Jazz Fest, and all the way until sometime in 2019.
Knowing my time with one of my favorite spots in New Orleans is limited, I decided to take advantage of a beautiful, sun-shiny day to get one last visit in before its long surgery begins.
A beautiful afternoon at Magnolia Bridge (aka all those other names).
I recently hiked the Appalachian Trail and now I'm back in New Orleans and writing a book about it. In the meantime, I'm also reminding myself that five-month-long adventures aren't the only adventures. My goal for 2018 is to have 365 New Orleans adventures in 365 days. Join me on my quest!
